COPYRIGHT ISSUES FOR USING TRANSLATION MACHINES IN ONLINE PLATFORMS – A CASE STUDY IN VIETNAM

Abstract

Law is a repsonse to social challenges. However, the current Vietnam’s copyright law has fallen behind the changes in digital technology. This leads to the delay in protecting works against copyright infringement in online platforms. The paper addresses a number of issues concerning activities of the Internet users on the website Wikidth.net, the rights and obligations of involved parties – especially the Internet intermediaries. This paper concludes with suggestions of changes in the recent Vietnam copyright law should made to meet the development of technologies.
