Integration of the ASEAN Economic Community: Opportunities and Challenges for Viet Nam

Abstract

Under the integration process until the end of 2015, the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) will be established. This is a high development step of cooperation and economic integration of 10 ASEAN member countries. The establishment of AEC creates many opportunities and poses many challenges for the Vietnamese economy. This paper is based on an approach to trade theories and practices that examines the opportunities and challenges to which extent Vietnam has access to the AEC and to set out appropriate measures for engagement in Vietnam. AEC is more effective.
