Socioeconomic fluctuations with the rural poor: impact and response
Abstract
Socioeconomic fluctuations pose a risk to farmers, especially the poor in rural areas, mainly due to: rising input prices, decreasing output prices of production, increasing prices of essential consumer goods and diseases. Crops, livestock, production land, lack of employment. The paper examines the types of socio-economic changes and their impact on poor and near-poor households, and discusses coping strategies of poor households against socio-economic changes.Downloads
