Adaptation skills to the living environment of Lao students at Quang Ninh University of Industry

Abstract

Since 2013, Quang Ninh University of Industry has been training nearly 300 students from the Lao People's Democratic Republic. As foreign students, they face many difficulties while living and studying at the university. To adapt to the new environment, it is required that Lao international students have appropriate adaptive skills. By using the method of sociological investigation, we found that the majority of Lao international students have already had skills to adapt to the new living environment. However the skills are still passive and formed in the form of self-adaptation. In order to increase the initiative and effectiveness of adaptive skills, Quang Ninh University of Industry has come up with a number of solutions to improve adaptive skills for Lao students at the university.
