Techniques for developing melodies in a few songs about Quang Ninh composed by musician Do Hoa An

Abstract

Among the musicians who write songs about their hometown of Quang Ninh, musician Do Hoa An is a well-known name for the quantity and quality of his songs on the subject. Do Hoa An's songs not only depict images of nature and people from Quang Ninh but also bring uniqueness and novelty to the way melodic contours are performed. In this article, we selected some songs written by musician Do Hoa An about his hometown of Quang Ninh and conducted research on basic melody development methods commonly used by the musician in compositions, such as repeat; simulate, etc. As a result, comments, assessments, and proof of Do Hoa An's success in applying and exploiting music development strategies were provided.
