The artistic space and time in the novel ‘‘Giông tố” by Vu Trong Phung

Abstract

In poetics, artistic space and time are elements that play a decisive role in the success of a work. Understanding artistic space and time in a work is not only valuable in critical research which contributes to affirming and promoting literary development, but also influences, orients, and dominates the readers’ awareness, attitude and emotion directly. Vu Trong Phung was one of the typical pre-revolutionary realist writers who made great contributions to the process of modernizing national literature. Creating artistic space and time with his special talent, Vu Trong Phung affirmed the value, attraction and intense vitality of the novel Giông tố.
