Abstract

There are many strategies to motivate learners. In this article, I recommend 5 strategies to increase intrinsic motivation. The first one is to awaken their desire to study by explaining practical benefits each lesson can bring to learners. The second one is to activate learners’ positive attitude and 100% responsibility toward studying by telling them inspiring stories. Besides, teachers should empathize, accompany and then lead their learners. Moreover, teachers should introduce The Learning Pyramid to learners and help them select the most effective learning procedures. Lastly, teachers should love their learners unconditionally so that students can feel respected and develop themselves more confidently.
