Green and sustainable economic development in Vietnam

Abstract

The industrial revolution 4.0 leads to the extensive application of technology to life, economic and social activities. Many new economic models have emerged based on digital platforms, such as: sharing economy, circular economy, green economy and sustainable development. The World Bank defines green economic development as economic development that ensures the efficient use of natural resources, which reduces environment pollution, and enhances resilience
to natural change, promotes the role of state management of the environment and natural resources in preventing natural disasters. Being well aware of the trend of green economic development, Vietnam has had a number of major undertakings and policies to promote green and sustainable economic development. However, in the implementation process, there are also shortcomings and limitations that need to be researched and solved.
