Abstract
According to requirements of The Ministry of Education and Training (MoET), non-English majored students on graduation must achieve at least level B1 of CEFR (level 3 of the 6 levels of CEFR). In order to reach this goal, a detailed pathway for short-term and long-term periods need to be designed by universities, including Hanoi University of Business and Technology (HUBT). A deep analysis on curricula and models of traning English at several public universities which have similar majors to ours is critically presented in this article. As a result, an appropriate approach to the non-English majored curriculum for HUBT is recommended, so that our students are able to reach the destination requested by MoET and beyond the goal
