Idioms, proverbs in english - interesting isues and our language interpretation

Abstract

    English idioms and proverbs are an important part of everyday English. They are formed by a group of words, expressing the meaning and usage of each idiom.A proverb is  a short, generally known sentence of the folk which contains wisdom, truth, morals, and  traditional views in a phetaphorical, memorizable form and which is handed down from generation after another. Learning English idioms and proverbs is fun while translating from English idioms  or proverbs into Vietnamese version to be aware of the British culture.  In this  paper  we will introduce and analyze a number of English-Vietnamese  idioms  and proverbs, thereby to form interpretation and translation to English and Vietnamese proverbs accordingly.
