DESIGN AND MANUFACTURE OF DRAPEMETER TO ASSESS THE COSTUME FORMABILITY

Abstract

Fabric drape is a mechanical property that greatly influences the structure and appearance of the outfit. Clothing designers need material specifications like fabric manufacturers need specific criteria for these parameters to meet requirements of users, where the fabric drape needs to be determined exactly by objective quantitative. Presently, drape measuring instruments often have complex structures, difficult to manufacture and expensive but use manual testing methods, time-consuming. This research aims to make equipment and design software for image analysis to determine the drape of apparel fabric at low cost, convenient to replace the old-generation drapemeters with the above difficulties.
