The simultaneous spectrophotometric determination of copper(II) and cobalt(II) is based on the formation of their complexes with diethyldithiocarbamate (DDTC) in the presence of polysorbate 20 (Tween 20) as a micellar media using partial least squares modeling. The absorption spectra were recorded from 290 to 500 nm. The calibration graph was linear in the range of 0.5-4.0 µg.mL-1 for Cu(II) (R2 = 0.9979) and 0.5-3.0 µg.mL-1 for Co(II) (R2 = 0.9976); The root mean squared error of prediction (RMSEP) was 0.160 and correlation coefficient (R 2 ) for copper and cobalt by PLS method were 0.988; 0.954 respectively. The results indicate the probability of the method in the simultaneous determination of copper(II) and cobalt(II).
