Abstract

Among four urban restricted development zones of Hanoi, Dong Da district has the most challenges in using clean water. According to the statistics of Dong Da clean water business, the percentage of customers in district metered zone 12 is 12.24% while the propotion of water supply is about 10.73%; however, there is a small quantity of revenue water with approximate average is from 56% to 62%. This study found the causes of non-revenue water in district metered zone 12 and proposed solutions to reduce the amount of this water, namely, the use of network segmentation. One effective solution is devide district metered zone 12 into two areas, each area have total flow meters. Water pressure gauges are installed at the beginning point of the distribution system and at points where pressure could be low. Epanet model is used to exam the flow and the pressure of the distribution system. The result showed that the velocity in water pipes are ensured, clean water are supplied to all the customers, the total pipeline lengths is small and finding the leakages is easy
