Abstract

Based on the use of textual analysis and diplomatic moves of South Korea, this
paper analyzes and studies how South Korea's foreign and security stance has changed as
reflected in its Indo-Pacific Strategy. South Korea has shifted from maintaining the “Three Nos”
principle, avoiding military alliances, harmoniously balancing US-China relations to adopting a
new posture. The Indo- Pacific Strategy shows that South Korea has directly connected its
foreign policy with the US, strengthened the comprehensive security cooperation, implying
military - security collaboration not only on the Korean Peninsula but also in potential conflict
hotspots of the region and the world.
