capital in social sciences. China's goal of establishing itself as a superpower is closely intertwined with the task of building an academic superpower. The introduction of new
initiatives, theoretical frameworks, or interpretations with distinct Chinese characteristics in recent times reflects the outcome of a process of constructing a unique national discourse system.
