Communityism – A trend of contemporary Western political philosophy

Abstract

Communityism is a trend of political philosophy, originated and developed since the 80s of the twentieth century and quickly escaped the academic scope to become the theoretical foundation of many political parties in Western countries. However, this movement is quite strange in Vietnam. This study clarifies the Communityism on three dimensions: (i) Comparisons between Liberalism and Communityism; (ii) Classification of Communityism; and (iii) Discussion on fundamental theoretical issues of communityism.
