Abstract
Cham people in Vietnam have been one of the most interesting topics
attracting much attention from scholars for many years. This article, based on analyzing
survey data collected from two large-scale surveys conducted by the General Statistics Office
in 2019, is aimed at providing comprehensive, objective, and up-to-date information about
economic, cultural, and social life of Cham people in Vietnam. The data illustrates principal
issues of the Cham community such as housing, marriage, education, economic life, laboremployment, health care, preservation of their cultural traditions and religion. Besides, the
data indicates that the community has developed significantly compared to other ethnic
minorities in Vietnam on several indicators. In addition, a large number of people practicing
their own religion have made a profound impact on their economic, cultural, and social life.
