Roles of logistics in economic development in the Central key economic zone

Abstract

This paper evaluates roles of logistics in economic development in the Central
key economic zone for the period of 2011-2020 based on three main criteria, including
economic growth, economic structure, and social progress (by analysing labor productivity).
The methods of Vector (counting Cos α index) and Shift-Share Analysis (SSA) are utilized to
assess the roles. The results show that logistics have played an important role in promoting
economic growth, labor and GDP structural changes, and labor productivity. Based on the
results, the paper makes suggestions on promoting logistics in the Central key economic
zone, contributing to the region’s rapid and sustainable economic development.
