Preservation and promotion of lineage culture’s values: A case study of Nguyen Tuong family in Hoi An, Quang Nam

Abstract

Lineage culture has been one of the precious traditional cultural features
of Vietnamese people for a long time, which is considered the nation’s cultural heritage.
This study discusses cultural values such as educational values, spiritual values, community
cohesion, and moral values of the Nguyen Tuong clan in Hoi An. These values are preserved,
practiced, and transmitted by all individuals of families and clans that play an important role
in promoting community cultural values.
