Abstract

Using a logit model and data collected from surveys of vegetable farming households in the Central key economic region, this study estimates the factors influencing the farmers' decisions to adopt VietGAP standards for vegetable cultivation. The results indicate that factors such as age, gender, vegetable farming labors, production area, geographical location of the production area, awareness of economic benefits, and the role of the government significantly influence the farmers’ decision to adopt VietGAP standards. Based on these findings, the study proposes several policy implications to promote the adoption of VietGAP standards in vegetable farming in the Central key economic region, thereby contributing to improving product quality, protecting public health, and environment as well.
