Abstract

In Da Nang, part of the Quang (Quang Nam - Da Nang) region, Buddhism flourished and played a significant role in social life during the 17th-19th centuries. This article identifies and analyzes the prominent roles of Buddhism in Da Nang, namely: (1) contributing to the stability of people's minds, creating a spiritual foundation for society, and satisfying the public's needs; (2) fostering a humane, benevolent, and spiritually uplifting society; and (3) strengthening community cohesion, shaping a colorful cultural tapestry of the Quang cultural sub-region.
