The position of Thuan Quang Buddhist literature in 17th - 18th century in the Vietnamese Buddhist literature

Abstract

The formation of Thuan Quang - Đàng Trong (inner land, South region of Viet Nam) not only has historical significance but also plays an important role in the development of the national literature. The Nguyen Lords issued various policies prioritizing Buddhism, which had profoundly affected the country’s socio-cultural life and formed Thuan Quang Buddhist literature with its unique composers, themes, genres, and languages. This article assesses the role and confirms the position of Thuan Quang Buddhist literature in the Vietnamese literature.
