Linguistic characteristics and dialect spoken in Ngoc Vung commune, Van Don district, Quang Ninh

Abstract

This article studies some linguistic characteristics and dialect spoken in
Ngoc Vung, Van Don, Quang Ninh. In terms of linguistic characteristics, local words used in
Ngoc Vung belong to different word classes, in which, nouns account for a larger number
than others, demonstrating the richness and variety of variations in local products and
phenomena. In terms of origin, Ngoc Vung dialect originating in Vietnamese makes up a large
proportion. Through its dialect, agricultural cultural characteristics and marine culture in the
locality are clearly illustrated. In particular, its agricultural culture is reflected more diversely
than mariculture by using semantic and lexical fields.
