Factors affecting offshore fishing households’ incomes in the Northern Central Coast: An empirical approach

Abstract
This paper uses econometric models to estimate factors determining offshore
fishing households’ incomes in the North Central Coast. The estimated results indicate that a number
of factors affecting their incomes, including capacity of fishing gears, fishing grounds, fishing
techniques, household size, fishermen’s educational qualifications, fishing experience, and policies
on stimulation fisheries. The empirical results allow the authors to suggest policy recommendations
for improving offshore fishing households’ incomes in the Northern Central region
