Establishing and defending national sovereignty in cyberspace

Abstract
National sovereignty is closely associated with historical processes. Along
with the progress and rapid development of technology platforms, the essence of “national
sovereignty” needs to be amended. In the past, “national sovereignty” was identified by land,
airspace, sea-islands, and then “the fourth space” as the outer space while today, it should be
supplemented with “the fifth space” as the cyberspace in the trend of the digital economy
and society. The article analyzes theoretical and practical issues, inevitability, viewpoints, and
solutions to establishing and declaring the national sovereignty in cyberspace as a legal basis
for fighting wrong and hostile points of views, contributing to firmly defending the country
in the new context.
