Innovative trend in Tan Da’s literature - From an artistic thinking approach

Abstract

Tan Da was known as the first generation of professional writers in the first 30
years of the twentieth century when there was a dramatic upheaval in the social structure and
the national culture, resulting in radical changes in the aesthetic and artistic thinking trends
of the last Confucians. By generalizing those changes in the culture, this article describes and
analyzes innovative trends in Tan Da’s literature, especially in the artistic thinking. Besides, the
author provides a detailed explantion building on a historical view, then identifies unique
aspects of Tan Da’s art style and his significant contributions to the literary modernism.
