The Co Tu ethnic group is the largest group in Da Nang city. According to
2019 population census, there were 1,325 Co Tu people residing in Hoa Vang, accounting for
29.8% of the total ethnic minority population in Da Nang city. In recent years, the Party and
People’s Government of Da Nang city and Hoa Vang district have issued various policies on
supporting the Co Tu community to develop their socio-economic life, especially education.
In recent years, the Co Tu people’s approach to general education has made positive changes
with encouraging results. However, Co Tu children have faced several problems, such as their
family’s limited resources, language barriers, awareness, learning motivation, culture, and
lifestyle that hinder their access to general education. Building on that practical picture, the
article proposes solutions to enhancing the Co Tu people’s accessibility to general education
in the region.
