Fisheries in Da Nang city

Abstract

Fisheries are vital livelihood activities of the coastal fishing community in Da
Nang city. Over the past time, the fishing industry has made an important contribution to
the city’s socio-economic development, especially improving the coastal fishing community’s
life. However, the industry has been facing various difficulties and challenges, particularly in
the context of a sharp decline in aquatic resources in both nearshore and offshore fishing
grounds. Meanwhile, the city’s large-capacity fishing vehicles are increasing, strongly affecting
the fishing efficiency. This study focuses on analyzing the situation of the fishing industry in
Da Nang city in recent years, thereby proposing solutions to sustainable development of the
industry in the coming time.
