Abstract

This article studies the effects of Single Point Diamond Turning (SPDT) setting errors on machined surface errors and offers solutions to evaluate the effects of these errors on the optical system by simulating aspherical/diffraction surfaces after machining and the entire optical system in Zemax optical design software. The results show that the main types of errors, such as off-axis and tool tilt, will reduce the MTF function and change the focal length of the optical system, especially off-axis errors.
