Factors Affecting Hotels’ Cooperation with Local Tourism Authorities: Empirical Evidence from Danang

Collaboration among stakeholders plays an important role in the sustainable development of the tourism industry, especially in developing countries. Based on the Social Exchange Theory and the reality of cooperation between hotels and the Danang Department of Tourism in the Department's important information collection campaign, this study analyzes the factors influencing the cooperation between hotels and the local authority, represented by the Danang Department of Tourism, the two most important stakeholders. The results show that the perception of hotels of Danang Department of Tourism’s support by the type of hotel ownership, and the number of stars, significantly influence a hotel’s tendency to cooperate with the Department.
