Abstract

The study evaluated the hepatoprotective activities of methanol and boiled aqueous water extracts OÍ Paramignya trimera roots using paracetamol induced liver damage in mice model. The boiled aqueous water exttacts at the orally dose of 10 g/kg weight has reduced serum AST and ALT concentrations, decreased liver histopathological injury by paracetamol (single dose 400 mg/kg, oral). The methanol extract exhibited a strong liver protective effect which was similar to those of the positive confrol (silymarm at the dose of 50 mg/kg weight daily).
