A METHOD ON DETERMINING PARTICLE SIZE DISTRIBUTIONS

Abstract

Particle size distribution (PSD) is an important parameter, when dealing with solidprocessing as well as other processes in chemical engineering. When the PSD function of acertain particle set is known, other structural parameters of a set of particles can be determined,especially, mean diameter dpm  bed porosity, specific surface area Am' etc. These factors arevery necessary to deal with processes as filtration, drying, adsorption, flotation, dissolution, pystallization, etc. By means of analysis of particles sets and using Matlab ,software, this paperpresents a method of determining PSD of a dispersed system. This is a high accurate and timesavedmethod.
