Abstract

Objective: to describe the current status and some factors associated with decreased sexual desire in female patients with depression treated at Hai Phong Psychiatric Hospital in 2024. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 20 female patients aged 18 to 55 who were diagnosed with depression (ICD-10: F32, F33). Results: the prevalence of decreased sexual desire was 68.3%. Factors associated with decreased sexual desire in female patients with depression included: age ≥ 40 years (OR = 5.6; p < 0.01), severe depression (OR = 6.3; p < 0.05), presence of psychotic symptoms (OR = 5.8; p < 0.05), suicidal ideation or behavior (OR = 6.3; p < 0.05), and presence of stress (OR = 2.5; p < 0.05).  Conclusion: Age 40 or above, severe depression, psychotic symptoms, suicidal ideation or behavior, and stress are factors associated with decreased sexual desire in female patients with depression.
