Abstract
Based on the foundations of geolocation theory as well as statistical methodologies and procedures, elemental analysis, etymological examination, and historical comparisons, this research article investigates the linguistic characteristics and the rationale behind the designation of toponym for Vietnamese provinces from antiquity to contemporary times. From this analytical framework, principled guidelines are formulated to facilitate practical applications, specifically pertaining to the amalgamation and integration of provincial toponym. The regulations that govern the designation of provincial landmarks in Vietnam are designed to ensure that they are underpinned by scientific rigor, reflect ethnic diversity, and resonate with popular usage. Each of these regulations is encapsulated by distinct standards.
