THE ROLE OF REPUTABLE PEOPLE IN PRESERVING AND SPREADING THE CHO-RO LANGUAGE (A Case Study of Binh Loc Ward, Đong Nai Province)

In light of the imminent threat posed to the Cho-ro language, esteemed figures within the Cho-ro community located in Binh Loc ward, Dong Nai province, have been diligently engaged in initiatives aimed at the preservation and dissemination of their ethnic language. Utilizing Ralph Linton's Functional Role Theory, this article conducts an analysis of the roles and status of these esteemed individuals within the ethnic minority community concerning their contributions to the preservation and propagation of the Cho-ro language within the locality; based on this analysis, it proposes strategic solutions to enhance the influence of these esteemed figures in the foreseeable future, alongside policy recommendations directed at the preservation and promotion of the linguistic heritage of the Cho-ro people in the region.
