THE NATIONAL BANK OF VIETNAM AS A CENTRAL BANK OF THE REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM (1955 - 1975)
Abstract
National Bank of Vietnam (Republic of Vietnam) (1954 - 1975) with a relatively autonomous operation model, governed in the direction of “technocratic”, limited the manipulation of policies by benefits from members of the board of management as well as their participation in the executive and legislative bodies. This characteristic helped the National Bank to perform well its function as a central bank, keeping somewhat the stability of monetary and financial system in the context of the economic uncertainty of the Republic of Vietnam, especially since 1965.
