Abstract

Social deviance is one important concept in sociology. This concept is often viewed as behaviour that departs from a group’s norm, or violation of cultural norms. In the book “Suicide”, Emile Durkhiem had affirmed that suicide is a serious social deviance, and the cause of every type of the suicide stemmed from the society. It can be seen that social deviance, like all other social behaviors, has its origin in society, in other words, deviant behavior has a social nature, that is: deviant exists only in relationships. relation to cultural norms. A person who misbehaves when others identify them as such. At the same time, both norms and ways of defining deviant behavior require social authority.
