Abstract

The Nguyen Dynasty (1802-1885), especially under the reigns of Minh Mang King, has established a system of supervision agencies from the central (Vien Do Sat, Luc Khoa) to the Dao (Giam sat Ngu su), to monitor activities of exam courts, and help the government prevent the situation of power abuse to support mandarins’ relatives or gain their self-interests, and choosing talented individuals.
