ALMSGIVING PRACTISES FROM THE BUDDHIST COMMUNITY IN THE CONTEXT OF THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC

Abstract

In this article, we present the almsgiving practises of the Buddhist community at three pagodas in Ho Chi Minh City in the context of the covid pandemic. In addition, we conduct analyses through "Gift-Giving" theory of Marcel Mauss in order to better understand the morality and economics of this practice.
