Abstract

In the XVII - XVIII centuries, the Nguyen lords encouraged a large number of people from different regions, different classes came together and worked hard to develop this territory into a prosperous land. However, besides positive policies, the Nguyen lords government also had policies that make people faced with many difficulties, in which tax policy is a typical example. Annually, individuals are obligated to remit various taxes and levies. Even during holidays, people are still obligated to make a substantial financial payment. This paper examines the Tet holiday collection techniques of the Nguyen lords in Dang Trong, based on historical sources, within the context of contemporary taxation.
