Abstract

The Giong Junction is recognized as a national relic according to Decision No. 39/QD-BVHTT of the Ministry of Culture and Information news on December 30, 2002. This is where the French colonialists executed comrade Nguyen Van Cu - former General Secretary of the Indochina Communist Party, comrade Phan Dang Luu - former member of the Party Central Committee and many revolutionary soldiers participating in the Cochinchina uprising 1940. The monument is a testament to the resilient, persistent, and indomitable fighting spirit of the Party and people during the resistance war against the French in Cochinchina in particular and the country in general. This article examines the origin, characteristics, and historical significance of the Giong Junction relic.
