Abstract

According to WHO, gender identity is defined as an individual's perception of their own gender. These identities are complex, as they are influenced by the gender characteristics that individuals have internalised throughout their experiences. This article utilises qualitative data derived from 30 survey samples in Ho Chi Minh City to examine the identity of homosexual male sex workers. Based on this analysis, recommendations are proposed to enhance policy planning aimed at preventing and combating prostitution broadly, with a specific focus on homosexual sex work.
