PROBLEMS OF WRITING CONSTRUCTION OF ETHNIC MINORITY LANGUAGES IN VIETNAM

Abstract

Based on the results of fieldwork and analysis and synthesis of documents, the article discusses the issue of writing construction of ethnic minority languages in Vietnam. In the current period, when choosing ethnic minority languages, for which priority should be given to constructing writing first, it is necessary to focus on two groups: 1) popular ethnic minority languages in the region; 2) endangered language, at risk of being lost.

When constructing writing of ethnic minority languages, in general principles, it is necessary to ensure scientificity, nationality and popularity. Regarding the technical plan for writing construction, the most reasonable plan is to construct a new writing based on the Latin alphabet. Special attention needs to be paid in choosing standard sounds for writing construction, specifically, it is necessary to construct orthographic norms on the basis of the supradialect of the national language in which the writing is constructed. Avoid choosing a certain dialect or patois as a representative to define orthographic norms for the entire language of the nation.
