Abstract

Phung Khac Khoan was a Vietnamese mandarin with many achievements for the Le Dynasty in the resistance against the Mac Dynasty, most widely known in Korean literary circles through the cultural exchange between him and the Korean envoy Ly Tuy Quang 李睟光 during his diplomatic mission to Beijing in 1597. Based on historical sources published in China, Korea and Vietnam, this article presents his life, relics and activities during his diplomatic mission to the North.
