IDENTIFYING THE LIFE’S VALUES OF HO CHI MINH CITY YOUTH FROM THE CONCEPTION OF HAPPINESS

Abstract

Life values can be understood as what an individual considers to be valuable, important, or meaningful to her/his life. What are the life values among young people in such a big city, like Ho Chi Minh City, in the context of rapidly changing society? Based on the analysis of the conception of happiness among the youth, this paper aims to show that nowadays young people are more inclined to pursue personal values. To some extent, however, the social and community-based values still remain highly appreciated.
