CONCEPTION OF “TRUNG” (LOYALTY) OF NGO THI NHAM
Abstract
Not only is a prominent scholar but Ngo Thi Nham also is a patriot who had lived through a dull period in Vietnamese society in the 18th century when a copious number of chaos had taken place of. Ngo Thi Nham’s Patriotism has been unmistakably revealed to others by his conception of Loyalty according to Confucian’s norms at the moment in time. However, due to changes in Vietnamese political economy and social landscape during that time, that conception of him had achieved sufficient gains for an immense transition in the content. As a result of this urge, Ngo Thi Nham had been compelled to side with the farmers in Tay Son uprising in order to drive off the invasion force from the Qing dynasty of China. Surprisingly, regardless all of his countless and whole-hearted dedication, Ngo Thi Nham’s staggering efforts were still misinterpreted and therefore were inaccurately judged by others.
