Abstract

Studying the impact of the sense of belonging in a new urban community on the social cohesion of migrant workers is a relatively new research orientation in Vietnam. The results of the study suggest that the structure of the migrant labour community relies heavily on interpersonal relationships, social networks of fellow-countrymen or fellow-workers. The community boundaries of migrant workers include both physical and virtual communities. On the other hand, the sense of  belonging has an impact on  the social cohesion of migrant workers on the basis of social networks.
