CULT OF THE GOD OF AGRICULTURE (THAN NONG) IN ANNUAL WORSHIP RITUALS (Through the study of Han-Nom documents)

Abstract

The worship of Than Nong (God of Agriculture) is quite popular in Vietnam. Historically, the presence of this cult appeared very early and became a cultural feature of the Vietnamese people. The presence of this belief and custom in life has been recorded in many Han-Nom documents. The article introduces and codifies the Than Nong worship ceremonies of Vietnamese people which are reflected from the Han-Nom materials.
