RESEARCH ON SOME FEATURES ON FORESTRY IN COCHINCHINA DURING THE FRENCH COLONIAL PERIOD

Abstract

During the French colonial period, the French colonialists has promulgated a variety of decrees and executive orders on policies and deployment of forestry exploitation. With extremely rich and diverse forest resources in Cochinchina in particular and the whole country in general, the French colonialists has thoroughly exploited them to serve military purposes or export to France for profit. In the paper, we initially research on forestry in Cochinchina during the French colonial period in some aspects: policy, management and forestry exploitation.
