LOCAL ETHNIC MINORITIES IN THE SOUTHERNMOST PROVINCES OF CENTRAL VIETNAM IN THE CURRENT SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT CONTEXT - SOME PRACTICAL PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS

Abstract
In the southernmost provinces of Central Vietnam (including Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan), in addition to the Kinh ethnic group, there are also local ethnic minorities such as Cham, Raglai, Cho Ro, etc., forming a structure of diverse ethnic groups of population, with rich in traditional identities and values. In the period of national renewal, ethnic issues were focused and considered as an internal resource for the development of the country. Through practical research, the ethnic issue here is presented from theoretical perspectives and solutions related to ethnic policies according to the pillars of sustainable development in terms of economy, society, culture, politics - security - defense, and environment. On that basis, the paper contributes to the process of formulating and orienting policies and solutions to achieve the goal of sustainable development in the region.
